Pre-Production

During the preproduction phase, extensive research was conducted to gain a deeper understanding of the client's requirements and preferences. Our findings revealed a critical issue that needed to be addressed: the COVID-19 pandemic had forced CEQ to shut down for several years, which had a detrimental impact on its brand image among the citizens of Quito.
In response to this challenge, we recognized the need for an advertising spot that would showcase a revitalized image of CEQ, while also emphasizing its vision of providing unforgettable experiences. The primary objective was to strengthen the bond between CEQ and the people of Quito, inviting exhibitors and visitors to rediscover this iconic destination and explore new possibilities. |

CHARACTER DESIGN
|
A hummingbird named Journey was chosen as the protagonist for the spot since hummingbirds are considered a well-known symbol of the city, where you can find more tahn 50 species, and it's not uncommon to spot them daily, especially in the parks and gardens
As for the color, the backgrounds and color script were taken into consideration to design a protagonist that would always stand out out and remains recognizable throughout the story. |

Compositing was done in After Effects and the final edit on Premier Pro.
The spot was crafted with a guide song that perfectly follows its rhythm. To create an organic feeling, ambient sounds were strategically placed at the beginning of the spot, giving the sensation of typical rainy Quito morning. As the spot progresses and the rythm picks up, it seamlessly transitions to the sounds one would expect to hear in a park, such as children playing, people chatting, and birds chirping. The result is a spot that takes the viewer on a journey from a rainy sleepy early morning to a bright and lively park midday, inviting the viewer to follow this same journey and visit the CEQ. |
